Scotland's First Ski Centre Now Offers Challenges To Skiers and Boarders Alike

Scotlands First Ski Centre Now Offers Challenges To Skiers and Boarders Alike Originally known as the ‘White Corries’ Glencoe was Scotland’s first commercial ski area. It was partly formed by a massive thickness of ice which existed at the central site of the ice age in Britain, helping in the making of an interesting series of lobes and terraces that are still changing today. Some of the steepest on-piste runs are ready to challenge the expert boarder or skier while great nursery slopes help beginners to gain their early experience backed by this wild landscape. Glencoe is located only 74 miles north of Glasgow making it the perfect place for a snow break with easy access from all areas especially those flying into the city from elsewhere.

If unsure about snow sport locations or the best times to travel visit www.ski-scotland.com for information on lift passes for all centres or accommodation. Ski Scotland is the umbrella organisation made up of the five ski centres, VisitScotland and Snowsport Scotland. In 2007 the organisation launched an SMS weather alert giving an early heads up for all those enthusiasts looking for a quick getaway. Just log on to the website and sign up to receive free alerts.
