
The delightful resort of Montriond in located at the entrance to the Portes du Soleil and is one of the 14 ski stations which go to make up this "grandes domaine" with 288 pistes located at an altitude varying from 1000m to 2466m.
Montriond-Avoriaz has 70km of pistes between 1800m and 2460 with 39 ski lifts including a cablecar; 2 gondolas and 19 chairlifts. There is certainly plenty of skiing for all grades of enthusiast including 22 blue; 12 red and 5 black runs. A further 4 green slopes for the real beginner or young children make up the total of 43 slopes.
Using Montriond as a starting point you can access Switzerland and Chatel or the nearby ski resort of Morzine as well as the rest of the vast Portes du Soleil area.
As part of the Vallee d'Aulps, Montriond is one of three resorts and is full of charm and character and is often preferred to the hustle and bustle of its bigger neighbours, yet providing guests with the same lifts and skiing opportunities.
For boarders there are two snow parks with a permanent half-pipe and a competition slalom slope and if you travel by car to the Vallee d'Aulps, you can leave the car at your hotel or chalet and use the free buses which operate between Montriond, Morzine and Ardent
