
Located close to the Austrian border near Salzburg, you will find this resort crowned by majestic peaks providing 50km of downhill pistes. These are served by 2 gondolas, 5 chair lifts, and 18 drag lifts. It is true to say there are no runs which could honestly be described as difficult but most are on the medium rating and some are floodlit.
120 km (hiking) trails 100 km cross-country ski tracks Winter sports downhill enthusiasts have 25 ski lifts and 60 km of downhill pistes to enjoy including 18 drag lifts which ensure good facilities for beginners and families. There are also 2 tobbogan runs for good evening entertainment. It is an ideal family resort with plenty to do including 2 toboggan runs and there is an artificial ice bob run at Konigsee.
Berchtesgarden is a health cure resort so you should return home afterwards feeling "on top of the world"! At peak times such as Christmas and Easter the resort can get busy as there are guest beds for 25,000 but low season such as January is a good time to enjoy the quietness of the slopes and village.
