HEAVY SNOW ACROSS EUROPE (04/02/10)
Germany "Drowning In Powder!"

There has been heavy snowfall across the European Alps in the past few days with some resorts receiving over 1 metre. In the French Pyrenees region of France over 1 metre fell in 48 hours whilst in  Germany to the north it was reported the ski areas were "drowning in powder" with the Bavarian Forest and Sauerland receiving 70cm in 24 hours.
Italy has received between 30cm and half a metre whilst Swiss resorts have reported huge snowfalls led by Filzbach-Kerenzerberg receiving 2 metres (nearly 7ft) in the past week. - Reports www.skiinfo.com  In France Avoriaz is reporting 60cm of new snow and at Chamonix Mont-Blanc the base is reported to be the world's deepest at 4.2m and at Alpe d'Huez there is 3.2m (nearly 11ft) closely followed by Flaine 282cm and La Clusaz 2.7m (9ft)

Snow reports are now being updated several times a week for those resorts open so keep an eye on our SNOW REPORTS page.
