THE SEASON IS OVER
The 2011/12 Winter Season is now well and truly underway. Despite a poor show of snow at the end of last season, all signs for the coming winter are good. Val d'Isere are reporting 2 metres already and it's 4 week until their official opening. All tour operators are advertising cheap ski deals for the Christmas and New Year period which is generally one of the most expensive times to travel. This is due to schools in the UK going back slightly earlier in January than usual and also New Years eve falling on a Saturday, the normal changeover day for tour operators.
Neal Collins, Marketing Director with Directski.com says "this Christmas, New Year situation has caught a lot of travel companies off guard and now there's wholesale discounting going on by all the majors players. There's some amazing ski deals to be had from late December right through to early Feb. We've got packages for as little as £240 to Méribel departing London on the 31st December which is pretty hard to beat."
