COLD WEATHER AND SNOW FORECAST (28/03/10)
Easter Conditions Looking Great!

Colder weather and snow is forecast for the Alps in the week leading up to Easter. So conditions are looking extremely promising and will bring "relief" to many following the recent spell of mild weather.
It continues to be good at altitude right across the alpine countries but with a forecast of 15-30cm of new snow this week it will help to freshen up all slopes. It is strange with all the recent talk about "Climatic Change and Global Warming" but authorities in Switzerland are reporting an average fall of one degree below a long-term average, reports www.skiinfo.com  In France it is reported to have been one of the best winters for the past 30 years with more substantial and regular snowfall. In Italy the Marmolada glacier is reported to have a depth of 285cm and the Presena glacier above Passo Tonale a depth of four metres,
In the past week parts of Austria had fresh snow with the Hintertuxer gletscher with 305cm and the Dachstein gletscher 290cm.

Fuller details are contained in our "LATEST NEWS" page.

Snow reports are now being updated several times a week for those resorts open so keep an eye on our SNOW REPORTS page.

More detailed information can be found on our LATEST NEWS page.

Also, check out our website for the latest ski deals for the 2009-10 season as www.directski.com is already announcing "early booking packages" and some of the deals are really very good. Please remember the skiing insurance, again this can be booked via our website.
